Connected

We want our learners to have a sense of belonging through meaningful connections with other learners, OLFMs, course materials and the learning environment.

  • Present content through a variety of modes–readings, videos, multi-media, visuals—as “many modes matter in representing academic knowledge” (Bayne et al., 2016)
  • Offer room for personalization and self-development in learning activities, perhaps calling upon learners to reflect on past experience and integrate it with new information/concepts.
  • Provide meaningful and well-structured opportunities for collaboration with other students or other networks.
  • Encourage student participation and sharing with each other, instructors and their own communities.
